For Museum TV, and in partnership with Art Paris Art Fair, Jonathan Roze introduces "Les trois filles dans le salon", a remarkable painting by François Malingrëy. With a size of 200 x 165 cm, this oil on canvas is tipical from François Malingrëy's work and at the same time it perfectly illustrates the series of paintings presented on Art Paris Art Fair in 2021. François Malingrëy was here selected by Hervé Mikaeloff, with twenty other artists, to represent the French contemporary painting scene. But let's return to the work "Les trois filles dans le salon". It contains the main characteristics of François Malingrëy's touch: the repetition of the same character in the same room, playing a scene "together". And the lack of eye contact between them. No one looks at each other, no one looks at us directly. This double process creates this mysterious atmosphere we feel in François Malignrëy's paintings. This impression is reinforced, in this series "La Chambre Rouge" (The Red Room), by the decors itself. Inspired by the eponym painting of Felix Vallotton, the scene happens in those rooms with red walls contrasted by grey doors and wooden floors.
